CODE RED: Up to 2″ of snow for parts of Middle Tn., southern Ky.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.– A Winter Weather Advisory is issued from 10 p.m. Sunday – 7 a.m. Monday.

Accumulations of snow are expected in some parts of the mid-state and southern Kentucky. Meteorologist Colleen Mehlberg says at this time, models show we will likely see a rain transition to a snow mix late Sunday night (as early as 7 p.m. for NW counties) through early Monday.

The best chance for snowfall accumulations will be in southern Kentucky and along the Cumberland Plateau, which could see a 1/2" to pockets of 2" of snow. A larger impact for Middle Tennessee will be road conditions. Bridges, overpasses, and roadways could be slick with spots of black ice Monday morning when temps will be near freezing.
